Over the last two weeks, recordings of phone calls made by Young Thug during his time in jail have been surfacing online. The rapper has discussed the leaked conversations on X and in a three-hour podcast interview with fellow Atlantan Big Bank, and he has now apologized to some of their subjects directly in the form of a seven-minute track uploaded to X called “Man I Miss My Dogs.” Watch the track’s video on X, and read the song’s lyrics on Instagram.
The first verse of “Man I Miss My Dogs” is dedicated to Young Thug’s longtime girlfriend, Mariah the Scientist. “Baby, I’m sorry/One of my biggest fears is losing you to the internet,” he raps. “Fuck a jail call, I was playing, I’d never trade you.” He then turns his focus to Drake: “Trying to get you, Metro, and Pluto on the same page/The internet don’t know about it because real n****s don’t say.”
Young Thug goes on to imply that Lil Baby—with whom he made “Dum, Dumb, and Dumber” to kick off 2025—is no longer taking his phone calls. The track’s latter three verses seem to be addressed to Future—“I don’t gotta speak on your name, they know astrology”—21 Savage, and Gucci Mane, with whom Young Thug pleads, “N***a, please I’m not a rat/But that cheese where it’s at/All the n****s on the case that didn’t take pleas, that is that.”
In the autumn of 2024, Young Thug was released from jail after agreeing to plead guilty to participating in criminal street gang activity. He shared the Future collaboration “Money on Money” in April. The track will potentially appear on a forthcoming new album titled UY Scuti, titled after a red supergiant star that’s one of the largest in the known universe.
