Owner Grace Li said V was the maid of honour at the Oct. 14, 2023, nuptials at Madison Greenhouse in Newmarket, while the couple’s other mini-husky (the breed is actually Alaskan Klee Kai), a 10-year-old male named Ember, was the ring-bearer.

Neither animal could stay at the venue afterward, so they were dropped off with a petsitter in Richmond Hill, near Yonge St. and King Rd.
“My understanding from the petsitter was that she opened the storm door to walk another dog that she was taking care of so both of my dogs, who were not secure, ran out the door and she was only able to catch one of them, my boy (Ember),” said Li.

Li said she and husband Wilton Woo are still looking for V — who is micro-chipped and was wearing an air tag locater — despite the passage of time.
“Her air tag mysteriously stopped pinging — it pinged one last time at 10 o’clock that night (on Douglas Rd., about two blocks from the petsitter’s place in Richmond Hill) — and then it stopped pinging ever since and it never gave me a new location. So we’ve been looking everywhere for her. It’s like she vanished into thin air. And after talking to a couple of rescues, we’re hoping that someone might have taken her in.”
Li said aside from her human owners missing her, so does Ember.
“I think he’s a little lonely without her — they’re besties,” she said.
If anyone sees a dog that looks like V, they should call 647-339-9044.
