Quad bikers lead 10 police cars on high speed chase through seaside resort

Two men have been arrested after leading cops on high speed chase on quad bikes through a seaside resort involving around 10 police cars. The pair were spotted speeding and weaving in and out of traffic in Blackpool, Lancashire., as armed police and the dogs unit gave chase.

The pair had been chased by police from Fleetwood Road North in nearby Thornton, before they made their way through Bispham and finally stopped near Blackpool Zoo. Dramatic pictures from the police helicopter, using its night vision camera, show the duo surrounded by around 10 police cars in the early hours of this morning (Monday).

Lancashire Police confirmed two men had been arrested and taken into custody. A spokesperson said: “A 22-year-old man and an 18-year-old man are in custody on suspicion of dangerous driving, criminal damage, possession of offensive weapon.

“The chase started at the service station on Fleetwood Road, Thornton Cleveleys, with the quad bike stopped near Blackpool Zoo.”
