“Being poor is the most expensive way to live.”

“I say this all the time!! I am upper middle working class (not wealthy) and I recognise how unfair it is to people with less money. Sadly, it takes money (and money smarts) to save/make money.

I am fiscally responsible and frugal out of choice. There are so many advantages to having money to be in a better financial standing. Here’s a few examples:

Being able to pay car insurance and some other bills semi or annually at a discount over monthly bills with statement fees. One insurance company charged $15 a month extra to not pay the six months in full.

Having a better credit score gives you lower interest rates and also lower auto insurance premiums. How does having bad credit make you a bad driver???

Using a credit card on everything to get tons of points and rewards…yet paying zero fees because I pay the balance in full on time every month (on auto pay). No ridiculous late fees or criminal 29.99% interest!

Buying in bulk at Warehouse Club and stocking up during sales cycle at all stores. We have the money and the space to keep a huge pantry of items that I would guess is a 20% savings compared to buying one single item at a time at full price. Not to mention convenience stores or gas station up charge!

Buying clearance items at the end of season when I don’t need them for 50-75% off. I do this with kitchen linens, towels, sheets, blankets, sandals, gloves, winter coats etc. I store them until I need them. Once again you need extra $$ and space to do this.

Owning a home that appreciates instead of renting. So unfair what these slumlords are charging!!

Then there’s the whole making free money off of your money with stocks, CD’s, high yield savings, and all the other investments available.

Never paying late fees!

Being able to afford to eat whole, clean food and to see doctors and dentist when needed. It catches problems before the health issue is extremely expensive to treat and more recovery time is needed keeping people from working and earning money.

Not getting caught up in the death spiral of payday loans to keep up on bills. I know someone that entered into this deal with the devil and it is criminal how they prey on desperate people.”
