Former US President and Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump steps off his plane upon arrival at Philadelphia International Airport ahead of his first debate with Kamala Harris

Notorious bigot and conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer was seen leaving former President Trump’s as he landed in Philadelphia for his major debate with Vice President Kamala Harris. The Republican candidate appeared to have left wife Melania at home ahead of the key moment ahead of the November election.

Loomer, who is infamous in the US for her controversial views, has long been one of Trump’s most staunch supporters on social media and alt-right platforms. She has a notorious history of propagating conspiracy theories, particularly those involving anti-Muslim and anti-immigrant sentiments.

Additionally, she has been instrumental in spreading the unfounded theory, also repeated by Trump, that Kamala Harris isn’t genuinely black. Loomer is an admitted racist who has described herself as a white nationalist and even celebrated on social media the mass deaths of migrants in the Mediterranean by tweeting: “Good. Here’s to 2000 more”

The New York Times reported last year that Trump had instructed his team to hire Loomer, but the backlash to reports of her potential hiring persuaded him not to. That hasn’t stopped Loomer from suggesting that she will serve as Trump’s press secretary if he is elected to another term.

Last summer, she posted that she would vanquish his “enemies” as his spokesperson and was invited to spend time with Trump a week later. After their meeting, the former President posted in support of Loomer, 31, saying: “You’ve been really very special. You work hard and you are a very opinionated lady, I have to tell you that and in my opinion, I like that.

“And I appreciate all of your support and you’ve been doing, and everybody appreciates your support.” Trump has repeatedly praised her reposting a tweet from Loomer claiming that Harris “is not Black”.

“Not only does Kamala Harris’s own birth certificate prove that she is LYING about being black, but CNN even once did a whole video interview about how Kamala is INDIAN,” Loomer wrote following comments Trump had made at a National Association of Black Journalists event where Trump said “I didn’t know she was Black until a number of years ago when she happened to turn Black.”

“Someday I will be his Press Secretary. I will protect him from all of his enemies and haters. They will meet their match in me. #Trump2024”

Recently, Loomer has been calling on her followers across various right wing social media platforms to support Donald Trump in his bid to return to the White House.

But there is little precedent for a press secretary like Loomer, who in a bizarre Twitter post on Saturday, began eating dog food to promote the video platform favoured by the right, Rumble.

Rather than achieve viral fame, the video appeared to disgust many viewers, with some branding it “weird” and “gross.”
