Dog poo decorated Christmas tree festive surprise for pet owners

Residents have given a not so subtle hint to dog walkers to please take their discarded dog poo bags home with them.

This Christmas tree was erected near Madley Park in Witney and ‘decorated’ with filled plastic bags to highlight the problem of dog owners leaving their pets’ waste behind.

A notice attached says: “Discarded dog waste bags are a big problem. To help you remember to collect your dog waste bag on your return we’ve installed a special (trial) hanging post.

“Please hang the bag here. Enjoy your walk, collect and then dispose of the bag responsibly. Thank you.”

It comes two years after audio engineer Tim Turan made a calendar of all the bags he spotted hanging from trees and bushes while walking his own dog Wooftallini in Oxford.

His friends started commenting on how funny the pictures were, and so Tim decided he would make some joke calendars for a few friends called Poo Bags of Oxford.

Such was the demand he went on to sell them too for £15 a pop.
