What happened between Narok man and police?
A police officer intervened to prevent the man from endangering himself before the dog managed to escape unharmed.
However, the man perceived the officer’s intervention as an obstruction and quickly turned violent, attacking him with slaps and kicks in front of onlookers. The officer retaliated with kicks and blows.
The confrontation escalated until members of the crowd stepped in to separate the two.
The incident, captured on video, sparked widespread reactions among Kenyans, with some criticising the officer despite his efforts to protect the man from potential harm.
How did Kenyans react to the Narok incident?
Lee Jaree
“Huyo askari anajaribu kuokoa huyo jamaa raia. Mko na akili duni sana always negative.”
Isack Limo
“But he was not heading to the chopper door, and he bent low to avoid rotor plates and rescue his dog, officer failure again.”
James Kioli
“There wasn’t a need for confrontation since the pet had already escaped, so the guy would have just avoided drama and fled away. By fighting a uniformed police officer, he can land in hot soup.”
John Njogu Wacira
“Sasa Chihuahua alikuwa katika danger gani surely? Haingekatwa na rotor na haingekanyangwa na helicopter since it was lifting up and flying away. Kweli, common sense is not common.”
Unkol Moddy
“Acha court pia iamue sasa maana sasa ingine kutetea mkenya ni ngumu sana vitu kila mara.”
Sammie Kyle
“My thought is that he thought that this man might want to hang on the chopper and intervened for the sake of the man’s safety. Well, the dog wasn’t at risk anyway because the chopper is just going to lift off sio kama gari eti itamkamyaga. But it’s a case of misunderstanding and overreaction.”
