Overthrow Your Owner in Dog Witch
Mystic Forge and solo developer Heckmouse have officially launched Dog Witch, a turn-based deck-building roguelike now available on Steam. You can purchase it for just $9.99, with a 10% launch discount running through November 17. Produced by Rami Ismail and tested by an ‘Elderly Non-Gamer Playtester’, this quirky adventure blends the strategic depth of Slay the Spire with the unpredictable charm of Dicey Dungeons.
Players step into the paws of the Dog Witch, half dog, half witch, all attitude, as they roll dice to conjure wild combos, battle eccentric foes, and collect more than 150 magical artifacts that reshape each run.

Built for quick, endlessly replayable sessions, Dog Witch challenges players to overthrow the Mad Master Wizard, their former owner. All while navigating a world full of mystical artifacts, corrupted magic, and whimsical chaos. Beneath its cute, cartoon-like aesthetic lies a world brimming with danger. Each dice roll can make or break your fate. The game’s eclectic cast of enemies draws inspiration from surreal shows like Adventure Time, adding to its humor and charm.
To mark the launch, the developer is hosting a special promotion for media and content creators. Anyone who covers the game and sends in a photo of their dog can have their furry companion added to the game as a playable character.
Heckmouse spent five years bringing Dog Witch to life, with his mother’s retired husband serving as the sole playtester. Now, with Mystic Forge publishing and Rami Ismail producing, the game continues to grow. Heckmouse has already outlined a roadmap of post-launch updates, including new bosses, enemies, customization features, and unlockables, with the first major update arriving in December.
